With a strategic location, rich potential, advantages and cultural values, revolutionary history, the Viet Bac War Zone has identified, linked, exploited, developed tourism, improved quality and diversified products.

This is the comment made at the workshop "Linking tourism development in association with preserving and promoting cultural and historical values of the Viet Bac War Zone", coordinated by the National Assembly's Ethnic Council. The Institute of Cultural Economy (under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations) was held on August 2 at the National Assembly House, Hanoi.

The seminar attracted the participation of more than 120 delegates who are representatives of ministries, departments, branches, National Assembly deputies, scientists, experts, and representatives of 6 provinces in the Viet Bac War Zone and other localities. direction.

With 23 presentations, the workshop contributed many initiatives and ideas in preserving and promoting cultural and historical values ​​of the Viet Bac War Zone to develop tourism in particular and preserve and promote the good traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities in general, contributing to the effective implementation of the contents of Project 6 of the national target program "Socio-economic development of ethnic minorities in the region". mountains" in the provinces of the Viet Bac War Zone.

Promoting Vietnam Bac tourism strengths

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Comrade Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council emphasized that, with a long tradition of heroic revolutionary history, the Viet Bac War Zone saved keep a system of more than 1,000 historical, cultural and scenic sites, along with revolutionary relics with landmarks associated with Vietnam's heroic history during the period of resistance against the French, of profound significance. colorful in many ways.

On the other hand, the unique cultural values ​​in the life, culture and beliefs of the Viet Bac War Zone make this area even more attractive. In particular, for the tourism industry, these values ​​have been and are becoming a great resource to exploit and develop tourism, contributing to the conservation and promotion of the good traditional cultural values ​​of the localities. ethnic minorities, thereby developing the socio-economic development of ethnic minorities in the provinces of the Viet Bac War Zone.

Tran Thi Hoa Ry, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Minority Council, stated that the six provinces of the Viet Bac War Zone in general and the provinces of the revolutionary war zone - the "Capital of the Resistance" (ATK) in particular had especially important strategic position in terms of military, economy, politics, society, a loyal and loyal land to the "Resist Government", and "Uncle Ho's army", making great contributions to the country. for successful resistance.

With its potential and strengths, at different levels, the localities of the Viet Bac War Zone have determined that tourism development becomes an important economic sector, aiming to be a spearhead economic sector, a breakthrough stage. for local socio-economic development. Especially, after the Politburo's Resolution 08 on developing tourism to become a spearhead economic sector, the Provincial Party Committees of the provinces issued a Resolution on tourism development, aiming to bring the tourism industry in each locality. develop commensurate with its potential and strengths, contributing to bringing the region's tourism development to a new height.

However, the opinions of the delegates at the workshop also pointed out that Viet Bac tourism in recent years has achieved some positive results, the growth rate is quite high along with the formation of a number of tourist destinations. Although tourism in the region has developed mainly on the basis of exploiting the available tourism resources of each locality, tourism products have not been invested much, so it is still quite monotonous and coincidental. repeat in many localities, lack of additional services.

In addition, the work of cooperation, promotion and training of tourism human resources is still limited and ineffective. The linkages between localities in the region are still loose and inefficient, so the competitiveness is still low and the overall advantage of natural resources cannot be promoted for tourism development.

Promote regional links

The delegates also pointed out many reasons leading to the above situation, of which the main reason is that they have not aroused, exploited and brought into full play their potentials and strengths, as well as not having a strong connection and connection. to develop tourism between localities inside and outside the region.

According to experts, this connection for the specific case of the provinces in the region is very suitable and creates many opportunities for tourism development, due to its adjacent geographical location, convenient transportation connections. convenience, tourism products complement each other.

Vice Chairwoman of the Council of Ethnic Minorities Tran Thi Hoa Ry said that in order to effectively link and cooperate in tourism development in the Viet Bac War Zone, first of all, the linkage and cooperation between provinces in the region must be It is of prime importance, in order to promote the comparative advantages of each locality in terms of tourism development potentials and resources, and at the same time supplement and overcome each other's limitations in development.

Through association and cooperation, it will enrich and diversify tourism products, create specific and high-quality tourism products for the whole region, thereby enhancing competitiveness and competitive advantages. advantages in tourism development of the Viet Bac War Zone.

Sharing the same opinion, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, emphasized that regional linkage must be identified as the key to tourism development in the Viet Bac War Zone, in which focusing on planning key products for the whole region.

Accordingly, it is necessary to identify the typical and authentic products of the region that cannot be found anywhere else, which are cultural relics, revolutionary history, geology (geological parks), agriculture and rural areas (products of the past). OCOP products, of which there are over 600 3-star products, 4 5-star products), and associate these products with the festival culture in the region.

Regarding this issue, Dr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, General Director of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, said that product development should be paid special attention to in order to form and develop quality cultural tourism products. ; connecting cultural and historical relic sites to build and develop typical tourist attractions of the region, and at the same time create favorable conditions for exploitation in combination with different types of tourism. , such as spiritual tourism, craft village tourism, ecology, community, agricultural tourism ... in the direction of green tourism, in order to diversify tourism products, increase the attractiveness for tourists.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Duc Thanh, one of the effective solutions to develop tourism associated with conservation and promotion of cultural and historical values ​​is to link, first of all, to link between tourism and culture. The tourism and culture industries need to coordinate in organizing promotional activities to promote the values ​​of the heritage and attract tourists. Sights and heritage attractions also need to cooperate with travel businesses in big cities to build source tourism programs, nostalgic tourism programs as typical tourism products. .

In addition, it is necessary to link within the region between heritage tourist attractions to form specialized tourism programs, such as tourism programs for pupils, students, soldiers, officials, etc. party members. The association between heritage attractions and local cultural activities, exchanges with local people, especially with village elders, living witnesses who have memories related to historical relics. Revolutionary history will also increase the appeal of heritage tourism programs.
