After the preliminary round, the jury selected 15 outstanding works to participate in the final round, taking place from now until January 15, 2025.
List of outstanding works entered the final round of the first International Lantern Design Competition held in the world.
The Organizing Committee will support the teams (partially) with funding to construct and display their works at the Ocean International Lantern Festival during the 58 days of the Spring Festival (from January 18 to March 16, 2025). The teams with the best works will be honored at the opening ceremony of the Festival on January 18, 2025 at K-Town Square, Vinhomes Ocean Park 2.

The two finalists from China are "Eastern Shining Dragon" by artist Yemu Wenhua and "Wings of the Future" by artist Gong ShuiXiu.
While Yemu Wenhua brings a magnificent dragon image, exquisitely simulating the royal palace architecture typical of Chinese culture, "Wings of the Future" is a combination of modern technology and the quintessence of Eastern tradition, bringing an impressive visual experience to viewers.
Artist Gong ShuiXiu (stage name Coco) is also a familiar name that is always present in the list of the most requested artists at the world's top lantern festivals.

Korea also contributed 2 excellent works to the final round. Specifically, the work "Hand heart and Squid Game" by artist Seo Deok Hwan was inspired by the characters in the globally famous movie Squid Game.
On the contrary, artist Lee Sang Moo - Art Director responsible for curating and designing the Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival - one of the most famous lantern festivals in the land of kimchi, recreated the "Sajik and Nongak Ceremony" - a ritual symbolizing the traditional culture of the Joseon Dynasty.
The representative of Thailand from the leading regional jewelry company - Prima Art, attracted attention with a 4m high cluster of Thai elephant-shaped lanterns, meticulously decorated with typical patterns on traditional jewelry, carrying the message of prosperity, luck, wisdom and strength.

The final round also saw the participation of Ryosuke Harashima - a representative of Japan, also a famous artist with solo exhibitions in prestigious museums, bringing to the competition a 3.5m high lamp cluster. True to its name "Totem of Hope", Ryosuke Harashima's work makes a difference thanks to its minimalist design, balancing light - color - delicate patterns.

In the first year of organization, Vietnam had 9 excellent teams participating in the final round, including Hoi An Craft, Thanh Tuyen Color, Sac Mau Cuoc Song, Quang Minh Tuyen Quang, Van Giang - Livable Countryside, Thanh Tuyen Festival Sparkling, Kinh Bac Cultural Heritage, Ms. Duong Thi Nga (Tuyen Quang), Mr. Nguyen Tan Phat - Duong Lam Son Tay.
The works from the Vietnamese teams all have in common the honor of national cultural values, recreating 4,000 years of history through the art of light. The gods familiar to the Vietnamese people such as Thanh Giong, Lac Long Quan, Chu Dong Tu have become the inspiration for the creativity of young artisans.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Bac - Director of the Department of Performing Arts, Ministry of Culture - Sports and Tourism, member of the Jury, highly appreciated the quality of the entries: "I am surprised at the level of investment of the teams. The works are very large in scale, recreating both cultural and heritage spaces, simulating unique architecture interwoven with creative stylization, renewing familiar symbols of civilizations through the language of light and color. The number of dozens of teams from many countries affirms the success of the first International Lantern Competition to be held".
The 2025 Ocean City International Lantern Festival and Competition is the spring destination of this year's festival season.
The Ocean International Lantern Contest & Festival 2025 also contributes to enhancing the image and position of Vietnam on the international cultural tourism map.
The Ocean International Lantern Contest & Festival 2025, co-organized by Vinhomes and Sunny Vietnam, will take place from October 31, 2024 to March 16, 2025. The final round will take place from now until January 15, 2025.
The winning teams will be awarded certificates and prizes (including cash and in-kind prizes). In which, the First, Second, Third, and Encouragement prizes have a total value of 50,000 USD, 30,000 USD, 20,000 USD, and 10,000 USD, respectively.
The ceremony to honor the most impressive lantern works and the most talented artisans will take place on January 18, 2025, and will also open the Ocean International Lantern Festival, which will last until March 16, 2025.
The magnificent and majestic lantern clusters will be displayed on a 2 km long route at Vinhomes Ocean Park 2 (Ocean City), creating an art-enjoying destination and an unmissable spring travel experience for millions of tourists.
In addition to the works in the final round, visitors will also admire lantern works from artisans from Fosun - the unit that organizes the famous Yuyuan Lantern Festival, which has been recognized as an intangible cultural heritage in China.
The 2025 Ocean City International Lantern Festival is also a spring shopping destination, bringing Tet home with 200 unique booths of the Giang Vo Spring Fair special edition 2025 and hundreds of activities to experience music, art, and international cuisine bustling 58 days of spring.
