On the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, Tuyen Quang city organizes a Boat Racing Festival on the Lo River. Boat racing festival is one of a series of cultural activities of Tuyen Quang City Spring Festival to introduce to the people and tourists a traditional beauty of Tuyen people.

The festival not only attracts a large number of visitors, but also many teams compete. There are 13 teams in 13 communes and wards of Tuyen Quang city participating, each team has 30 athletes, including 4 reserve athletes. The process of the competition is that each racing team has to go through a lap on the Lo River, the section from the old Nong Tien ferry terminal to Soi Tinh Huc and back with a length of about 3 km.
