After many months of "freezing" due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, as soon as the epidemic was controlled, tourism activities in many provinces and cities began to show optimistic signals. Specifically, some provinces and cities have plans to bring domestic tourism back to life. At this time, the alignment and unification in terms of welcome policy between localities and tourism business units will be the door to gradually "open up" for domestic tourism.

Adapting to “new situation”

At the online conference "Green - green tourism" just took place by the Hanoi Travel Association (Hanoi Tourism Association) with the participation of nearly 20 tourism management agencies, investment centers and tourism promotion centers. The tourism progress of the provinces and cities shows the interest of many localities in finding solutions to restore tourism in accordance with the "new situation".

According to Chairman of the Hanoi Travel Association, Director of Hanoitourist Travel Company Phung Quang Thang, tourism business units have determined that they must adapt to the possibility that the epidemic may take a long time. “What needs to be done now is that localities and tourism business units must coordinate with each other to jointly implement measures to welcome guests safely and in accordance with the process; at the same time, develop products suitable for the "new situation", plan to respond if F0 cases appear, when tourism activities are taking place", said Mr. Phung Quang Thang.

As a locality preparing to welcome foreign tourists, Director of Ha Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Hong Hai said that Ha Giang is ready to coordinate with Hanoi's tourism businesses to safely welcome visitors. whole. "The coordination between provinces, cities and tourism service businesses needs to be implemented soon to activate tourism in the new state," shared Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai.

Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu said that although in 2020, a series of tourism products connecting Hanoi with other provinces have been deployed, ensuring safety criteria for epidemic prevention and control, but With the development of this epidemic, the recovery of tourism needs to change strategies and conditions to match. In particular, the conditions for "green tourism" need to ensure the following factors: Visitors meet safety standards, safe products, safe travel routes, safe stays.

“Adapting to the “new normal” requires the participation of all tourism businesses. Travel agencies, destinations and transportation that do not ensure safe conditions for the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic will not be allowed to operate," said Tran Trung Hieu.

Need to agree on criteria

At this time, many localities across the country have planned to develop tourism, in which domestic tourism is still the top priority. Some provinces with good epidemic control are ready to welcome foreign tourists, such as: Ha Giang province expected in October 2021, Khanh Hoa province expected from mid-October 2021, Quang Ninh province expected in November 2021. … However, many localities and tourism business units still have many doubts about the consistency in the criteria for welcoming guests.

According to Director of Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism Bui Van Manh, there should be a common policy with the role of "the locomotive" of the General Department of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and the Vietnam Tourism Association. According to Vice Chairman of Hanoi Tourism Association, Director of Asia Sun Travel Travel Company Le Thanh Thao, localities must agree on procedures for travel agencies to conveniently pick up and drop off guests. In the immediate future, localities and tourism business units need to pilot a tour in the form of a "tourist bubble" to learn from experience.

Meanwhile, Director of Viettrantour Tourism Company Nguyen Thi Huyen said that localities should provide a list of tourism business units that are allowed to welcome guests in the area so that travel agencies can connect and build together. building quality tourism products, but still safe and self-contained for tourists.

On September 28, the Vietnam Tourism Association officially announced the "National program to restore domestic tourism to overcome the consequences of the 4th Covid-19 pandemic". The program has set out safe tourism criteria for localities to implement. Accordingly, for tourists aged 18 years or older, they must receive a full dose of Covid-19 vaccine or have recovered after being infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. For travelers under 18 years of age, must test negative for SARS-CoV-2 virus by RT-PCR. Tourism businesses (including: travel, accommodation, transportation, destinations) must provide Covid-19 vaccination for employees; building tourist routes and methods of transportation according to safe routes…

Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association Vu The Binh said that this program will be a "guideline" to guide localities and businesses when implementing safe tourism. "For tourism to open up, localities and tourism businesses need to be open and closely coordinate on the principle of ensuring safety for epidemic prevention and control," said Mr. Vu The Binh.
