Hong Thai commune is 50km from Na Hang town, located on the top of a high mountain covered with clouds all year round, cool climate has formed many famous specialties, especially Shan Tuyet tea which was selected by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. as a gift to the Prime Minister of Malaysia during his official visit to Vietnam in August 2019.

It is pride not only for Hong Thai and Na Hang agricultural products, but also for the general joy of Tuyen's agricultural products with the expectation of reaching out to the great "sea". Shan Tuyet tea tree has existed in Hong Thai for a long time, the old people don't remember it anymore, only know that it has been attached to the lives of the Dao and Hmong people since the village was founded. Implementing the "One Commune One Product-OCOP" program, Hong Thai commune chose Shan Tuyet tea to focus on economic development. Thanks to that, the tea tree after many years of neglect now revives its vitality, bringing great economic value to the people. Currently, the whole commune has over 60ha of Shan Tuyet tea, in which there are many ancient tea trees hundreds of years old. Currently, the commune has a Son Tra Cooperative that processes this specialty tea and sells it to local people. Shan Tuyet Hong Thai tea has reached 4-star standard, is an indispensable gift for tourists to buy for their loved ones during the coming New Year and spring.

According to Mr. Vi Ngoc Quy, Head of the district's Agriculture and Rural Development Department, along with Shan Tuyet tea, Na Hang district has implemented programs and projects to develop crops and livestock and create special products. dominant feature. Among them can be mentioned as Thanh Tuong commercial black pork, Con Lon gourd duck, Thuc Man corn wine in Son Phu commune, Da Vi dry vermicelli, Thac Mo specialty fish in Na Hang town... OCOP has brought positive signals in changing the perception of farmers, creating new directions in production and trading of traditional local products.

After 2 years of implementing the OCOP Program, up to now, Na Hang has 7 branded products and 3 products certified for safe production according to VietGAP standards. Typical are Hong Thai and Khau Tinh safe vegetables; Na Hang specialty fish, Hong Thai Shan Tuyet tea. Some other products such as Da Vi dry vermicelli are certified for food safety; Khau Tinh lemon juice, Hong Thai pear with a traceability stamp... The products are gradually building brands in the market, helping to increase value, contributing to raising incomes for people.

Many agricultural products of the district have been ordered by supermarkets, especially fish raised in the Na Hang reservoir area. With over 8,000 hectares of ecological lake surface, clean natural water, abundant aquatic species, creating good conditions for people to develop fisheries. Up to now, the whole district has more than 100 aquaculture households on the ecological lake area, focusing on raising specialty fish with high economic value such as fried fish, halibut, wild fish... Na Hang fragrant fish delicious, firm meat, grows and develops well in the lake water environment. On average, the district harvests over 600 tons of seafood per year.

Developing specific products has brought into play the potentials and strengths of each commune, contributing to the realization of many important criteria in new rural construction such as poverty reduction, job creation for laborers, diversification of forms of rural development. This is also an important condition for the district to promote community tourism activities in the locality.
